Block Paved Driveway, Pathway, and Steps | Pontefract

Site Clearance and Excavation:
The existing driveway and path were heavily worn, with cracked concrete and uneven surfaces. Our team began by breaking up and removing the old materials, leaving a clean and level area for the new installation. A mini-digger was used to ensure efficient excavation while minimizing disruption to the surrounding garden.

Foundation Preparation:
To ensure the longevity of the block paving, we installed a robust sub-base consisting of compacted hardcore and a layer of sharp sand. This provided a stable and even foundation, capable of supporting vehicle weight and heavy foot traffic.

Driveway and Pathway Installation:

• Driveway: The driveway was laid with premium charcoal blocks in a herringbone pattern, known for its strength and aesthetic appeal.
• Pathway: A matching pathway was created to connect the driveway to the rear garden and wrap around the property. The pathway design included precise edge detailing, ensuring a seamless transition between areas.

Custom Brick Steps:
One of the standout features of this project is the bespoke brick steps leading to the front door. Designed with a mix of charcoal and red bricks, these steps not only provide safe access but also add an eye-catching element to the overall design.

Borders and Decorative Features:
The driveway and pathway are framed by contrasting red borders, which add definition and enhance the visual impact. At the entrance to the driveway, we incorporated a decorative pattern using a mix of red and charcoal pavers, creating a welcoming and unique focal point.

Finishing Touches:
The joints were filled with kiln-dried sand, and the surface was compacted for a secure, level finish. Finally, the area was thoroughly cleaned, and all debris was removed, leaving the property neat and tidy.
