We recently completed a full front garden and driveway transformation for a client in Penistone. The goal was to replace the old mixed paving and tired lawn with a more stylish, low maintenance, and defined space. Using Sorrento cobbled block paving with contrasting charcoal borders and bespoke sandstone pillars, we delivered a striking and durable new driveway that maximises kerb appeal and practicality.

Project Details

  1. Full Site Clearance & Excavation:
    We began by clearing the existing bushes, lawn, old concrete flags and gravel. A full ground excavation was completed to remove all debris and create a stable base. 

  2. Foundation & Sub-Base Installation:
    A high-quality sub-base of compacted MOT Type 1 was installed and levelled to form a strong and lasting foundation for the new driveway. 

  3. Sorrento Cobbled Block Paving Installation:
    Sorrento cobbled paving blocks were laid in a classic pattern to enhance the visual appeal of the space. The client selected a timeless mid-grey colourway, paired with charcoal contrast block edging for a clean and defined border.

  4. Pathway & Side Access Works:
    The side path and front step were also rebuilt in matching cobbled block paving, ensuring a seamless finish throughout the property’s frontage.

  5. ACO Drainage Integration:
    A new ACO drainage system was installed across the entrance to ensure efficient water run-off and help prevent surface water build-up.

  6. Sandstone Pillars for Pathway Defence:
    Two bespoke sandstone pillars were constructed at the entrance of the pathway to protect the pedestrian route and give a grand entrance effect.
